I have been meaning to fit bigger arch's on my disco for nearly a year now, but with paddocks selling the arch's at £200 a set its a job i kept putting off but i finally got fed up with my tyres bashing my arch's so i decided to try and fit defender arch's, i must admit i am very pleased with the way it has turned out but i did think what the censored am i doing as i took my grinder to the doors lol
I started on the back doors as i figure if you start with the hardest bit the job can only get better
I even found mud inside the doors it really does get every where
From here i trimmed some more of the inside skin of the doors and folded the outer skin around to fill the gap but before i did that i squirted in ample amounts of expanding foam, In hindsight i should have left more outer skin on the door so i could have brought it around the back and riveted it into place

Then i started on the front this was much easier i just cut out the rough shape then bent it back to its final size
Then i cut the old mounting points of the plastic arch's so they could be riveted on
First arch going on maybe i should of stood back and checked it's level before i fully riveted it :-\
Then on to the rear first thing i had to do was cut the arch in half
Then i had to trim the ends to fit the bodywork and apart from a coat of paint its job done
I have now given the front arch's 4 coats of matt black paint
And a picture to remind you what it looked like before
