How do I get a roaring fire going? Got it lit but not too much heat coming out of it I want lots of fire!!!!

maple is good for heat and leaves hardly and ashes how do i know we burn it at work as thats the wood we use dam does it get hot

you opend your fire place up then chap have you got the grate to go in the bottom?? Opened up, Grate in, Logs on and burning!! Looks good, for about half hour then flames die down alot

try havin the chimney swept and make sure there is room under the grate to get air to the fire lots of ash means no big fire as havin lack of air
