With with regrets I am selling my Suzuki Vitara. The poor thing has barely been used the past 5 years and pretty much been dry stored the whole time. I've literally just about to have the MOT done on it so it'll come with a whole years worth of ticket. When I brought it (back in April 2007) I done a near full service on it i.e. new cam belt, new dizzy cap and an oil/filter change. I've also put a new battery on it plus it has some funky Bosch Super4 spark plugs fitted. It also has a tow bar complete with wiring.
The list of mods as follows:
Bits4Vits 1-1/2" spring spacers
Bits4Vits camber correction bolts
205/75/R15 tyres (incl a full size spare)
Galvanised steel bumper w/'chavy' Lexus lights in the body
SU carb conversion done with a welded intake manifold
I've done other bits to the car like a DIY drainage pipe snorkel and airbox, flipped the front strut mounts and fitted manual (AISIN) manual hubs. There is CB fitted but it's in place of the stereo. I also had a electric fan fitted but the fan packed up last week so I've refitted the viscous fan; all the wiring, relay and (brand new) thermostat are in place should you want to fit another fan. I also 'retro' fitted electric windows.
Ok so now for the bad bits...As I said the car will come with an MOT. It's currently in the garage and all I need for a fresh ticket is a couple of bulbs and an inner CV boot. There will probably be a heap of advisories but I don't know what they are yet! I won't lie when I say the car isn't at all rusty! It may of been dry stored but it is on a K plate so there are patches all over it: the rear foot wells and the rear seat belt mounts. The rear arches are bad on the offside however I have done a cracking job of fibre-glassing them up! The fuel filler hose in fine though ie it's not gone porous and the chassis is fine too. The body work on the near side isn't exactly straight: the wing and cill are dented but I have managed to pull/straighten the wing out! I was going to box section the cills but never got around to it.
The interior has been stripped out from the beginning so there are no carpets. There are also no rear interior side panels fitted (because it had to get to the arches) but I do have them in the shed. There are also no rear speakers but again I have them somewhere in the shed.
Because of the SU carb it does have a manual choke. This means it does take a little while to run right ie it's fine once it's warmed up. It never use to be like it so I imagine it needs a good run on a fresh tank of petrol to clear it out.
If you haven't already noticed the car is bright yellow with Baywatch vinyls! We hand painted/roller'd it a few years back to use as a float in the local carnival. I've been told it been done it in 'two pack' paint...I'm not entirely sure what that means but apparently it's quite good(?). I was also told that if you lightly wet/dry it it'll come up really nice. To be honest, unless you look really closely you can't see the brush lines! The roof is a little dented though where I had my yobbish pals sitting on the roof during the procession because they didn't want to walk!
The steering is currently manual but I do have most of the power steering bit's in the shed, all you will need is a steering box. I also have a massive heap of spares in the shed including a full exhaust (it does have a hole in it though), a full engine gasket set, new brake shoes and pads, spare door windows, a spare (carb'd) intake manifold, other brake bits (incl disks & callipers and rear shoe mechs) and loads more I can't remember. Basically if you want anything with the car, take it as it'll probably get scrapped!
I think that is everything. This needs to go as I'm joining the forces in September. I think it is worth at least £600 but I am open to offers. Viewings are very welcome but I don't take kindly to time-wasters! Also before you ask, no I won't break it for spares. If I wanted it in bit's spread across the garden I wouldn't of wasted time putting an MOT on it! As I've previously said it hasn't got any tax on it but if you do want to drive it away I could put on some on for an extra price.
