Hi All, I am now selling my Honda Accord Type R details are,
2001 on Y 2.2 VTEC Injection Type-R 2001 post/face lift model
Metallic Nighthawk black/blue tint paint
P/S, E/W,LSD,ABS,HRS,RCL
High lift boot spoiler (standard)
Third/high level brake light
4* Safety rating (partly why I chose it,having my kids in the car)
Xenon headlamps (standard)
CD player and speakers (all standard)
White dials (all standard)
Alarm/immobilizer F/Fitted (with certs)
Massive boot space
Privacy glass all round (legal)
All original books/folder
Suede 'Recaro' interior/leg supports/bolster pump (standard)
'Momo' Steering wheel/ gear knob (standard)
Carbon fiber trim (standard)
Type R Seat belt/buckle covers and alloy tax disc holder
17" Alloy wheels (loads of tread on tires)
Space saver and original tools in boot
133,000 miles with extensive service history
Only 4 owners and lots of work carried out on her.
Mot till December
Tax will be renewed for six months in a couple of weeks.
Full main dealer history till 100,695 miles, all service stamps in original book.
From then on I have maintained the vehicle my self, and done a better job than any dealer could only dream of doing.
I service it every 3000 miles consisting of,
Oil filter and oil change (only good oils)
Fuel filter change
Clutch/brake fluid change
Gearbox oil change
Air filter cleaned (expensive induction system)
There have also been many new parts fitted to her which has all been done as parts have worn, over approx the last 2 ish years. (I think i do suffer with mild OCD)
Clutch kit 'Exeddy' stage 1 (inc bearing)
Flywheel 'XTD' lightened stage 1
Gearbox inspection undertaken (prone on pre models)
X2 Rear wheel bearings (One went so I did both sides)
X4 Spark plugs (forget the brand but they cost me a fortune)
X4 HT leads (standard Honda)
New 'Scorpion' center exhaust pipe (Scorpion s/s system cat back)
New exhaust flexi
X2 o2 exhaust sensors (one was playing up so replaced the pair)
X4 'EBC' Brake grooved disc's (fronts worn so replaced the lot)
Full set of 'EBC Redstuff' Pads
X4 'HEL' Braided Brake lines
Calipers seals replaced calipers rubbed down and re coated in red
'LL' brake tensioner fitted (stops any flexing under pressure)
Undersealed whole car
X4 'SPAX' -30mm suspension springs (good drop,sits nicely now)
X4 ARB bushes (rears worn so all replaced)
LED sidelight bulbs to match Xenon headlamps
New battery fitted (approx 2 years ago?)
Also carried out many coolant flushes and changes,Power steering fluid, EGR valve and plate removed and cleaned out regularly. Throttle body removed and cleaned up. Regular inspections all round.
Every quarter of the year I remove all wheels for a ruddy good clean up with my pressure washer,and do the under side of the car also.
At the end of this month/start of next it will having a new cam belt/aux belt,valve clearances and new water pump all done.
The bad bits
It has a few small bubbles on rear arch, early days and easy fix
It has a small dent on roof size of a penny, very hard to spot
Rear bumper has a scuff and few paint marks again easy fix
Front bumper has the usual age related stone chips
Wheels have acouple of marks again age related
Other wise the vehicle is immaculate,mechanically sound and solid,inside,underside,outside.
A pleasure to drive handles great everything works 100%,
masses of tread all round,brakes are amazingly good
It is cleaned and polished all the time so shines up really nice
(I never let it stay dirty for long, and have almost had to sleep in it due to nagging wife) using only 'Autoglym'
I'm sadly selling it as I have had her for 5 years now and my family has outgrown it in this time, I work away a lot so don't get to enjoy it as much as I would like anymore and we need something bigger....A family wagon
It has sailed every MOT I have put it through and only ever get brilliant comments on its excellent condition. It gets comments and looks everywhere it goes. I and the car are members of the 'Accord typeR European owners club' and have been for years. A true wealth of information. At last count there are only about 1000 of these accords left in the UK, so if your looking for a good hassle free reliable one you just found it, there becoming very rare now. It wont need any work for years to come, And Is An absolute pleasure to drive and own.
I'm asking for £2000. must sell asap.Absoloute bargain at this price.Reduced as I must get a bigger vehicle asap.
