My spare gearbox was free to me so I can't complain. I stripped it yesterday and learned a few things. The transfer box is good and just needs new bearings and seals. The transmission is a different story.
It appears someone modified a series 2 box to fit a series three clutch system. The main box only has sincros on 3-4 and it looks like they changed the bell housing and release bearing to the series three ones.
I use my 2a for driving back and forth to work so I quite like having the series three box in it with full sincros.

i have bin fitting new 6x9s in the back of my disco 1st thing i did was take the standed land rovers out and cut a hole for the new one so with that done went to put the new ones in witch are 350w so they have big backs on them ne way oh bugger they dont fit so i had to make a plate to bring them out by one and ahalf inch then i got it all back in and they sound the same as the ones that come out so i went to see a bloke called dan i think his name was he told me that the system i have in my disco dose not have base to the main speekers only the back door so i have to start agin nice

Broke it! the head gasket has gone and its gone bad. I've been told it'll be £450 - £500 to fix as its also misfireing, so i'm now after a vitara 1.6 8v engine.

Why is this thread called "WHAT DID U DO TO YOUR LANDY TODAY??" and it's a x4x owners club forum?? I don't own a "Landy" but I did clean my Suzuki SJ413 yesterday
