went into work on friday as normal only to be called into the office to see the manager , now me and him have never seen eye to eye he comes up with some feeble excuse that i hit a barrier with my truck as i was leaving a site where i have just done a deliverey and its on cctv . the damage is estimated at 550.00 quid .as it was not reported by me they are classing it as gross misconduct and i got the sack. i have seen the cctv footage and i only touched it lightly and it wobbled cant see no damage . so here i am first time unemployed in my life totally p****d off . have since found out that the company has lost a couple of large contracts so there you go.
have got to appeal within 5 days but is it worth it ! sorry to rant on and on but needed to get it off my chest cheers muddytubbie

sorry to hear that sounds abit harsh, i would try appeal jobs are hard to come by atm

i agree appeal it dosent sound like they got grounds to sack u if the appeal dont work then speak to some one about unfair dismissal if theres no damage then it aint gona cost 550.00 sqid to put right appeal if not take there asses to cleaners hat a bunch of

Sounds like you may have a case for unfair dismissal unless they can prove, uncategorically, that you caused that damage.

have lodged my appeal today talked to a solicitor today (free) if i can prove that they sacked me to save on redundancie i can take them to the cleaners . i belive me i WILL bas****s.

go for it tubbs as u will prob get a bigger pay out from courts than u would have got from redundency
