Hi I was having a look online to see what i could find. i sawa lot about GLASS,which i had a quick look on. I live in the Worlingham near to Beccles and was wondering if there were any green lanes around here I could go and take a look at. Im yet to get my 'mans 4x4' lol, but I decided I'm getting a Disco just a soon as I sell my inherited Rav4.
Thanks for the heads up there sound like i need to get down to the shops and buy one of those! Dan

You will need, OS Explorer or OS Landranger. One is 1:25000 the other is 1:50000. W H Smith's have offers on sometime. Try www.dash4it.co.uk there's are £5.59 (with free 1st Class delivery) for Explorer, or £4.89 (with free 1st Class delivery) for Landranger. I think i paid about £7.99 each in W H Smiths but there was buy two get one free or something like that on at the time. Hope this helps, Mr Mole.

If you goole "wheres the path" its quite a little neat app that allows you to view OS maps and Satellite side by side.
May help you decide on which OS to buy

there is a few nice lanes around your way, DONT GO ALONE last thing you want is to be stuck in the middle of a lane somewhere, there are a few lanes i used to do on my own near fritton that would be ok but still i didnt do them alone the first couple of times. if you post a request in the green lane section maybe someone will offer to show you lanes in you area, i would but i live a bit far away now

Yeah the idea of going alone doesnt grab me, not in my little rav4 lmao. I'm more interested in getting to know the area around me i didnt know existed, before i buy a decent (proper) 4x4, be handy to walk the dogs down a few lanes get to know them first in the mean time.No rush really, even though I am keen haha Mark I see you in Holland my home country, havent been there in donkeys years!! And yes the code has been studied many a time now, and will be keeping to very strongly, dont want to be one of those guys that brings shame on the cummunity!
Cheers Guys.

Are you not meant to check with the local council to make sure that the route you want to take is still open to motorised vehicles other wise you could end up being charged???

Yes i think i might give the Thetford route's a miss lol. Yes you can contact the council to get upto date information, but I think you can also contact the local GLASS rep who should be well informed with open/closed lanes (Correct me if i'm wrong though?)
